Travel Diaries: A day in Brighton, England

Another main day trip from London is Brighton, England. Well known as a beach getaway destination, Brighton is now a hub of quirky cafes and shops to entertain you for a day. But I would say definitely just one day. While we had a great time wandering down the boardwalk (and watching the seagulls steal my friends food) eating fish and chips, popping into cute shops, and drinking plenty of coffee, we ran out of things to do in a day and ended up sitting in coffee shop.

While I'm sure you can fill way more time if you're looking for something in particular in the shops or there for a relaxed day on the boardwalk, it is a great one-day destination and a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The most unique thing about Brighton is not the quirky shops, but rather the eastern inspired architecture. It was really interesting to learn about the history of Brighton on a brief walking tour, and of course, when in Brighton you must indulge in some fish and chips!
