Travel Diaries: Portugal

I want to preface this with saying that I think I've barely seen anything of Portugal and I definitely want to go back as soon as possible so this is more of a post to show you some pictures and get you inspired to plan your own trip to this beautiful country! I've only been to Lisbon and did not do nearly all that I wanted to do there. It was the first and last bit of my first trip to Europe with my grandparents back in 2016 (more on this amazing trip later). But what I did see of Portugal made me fall in love and I haven't stopped trying to plan a trip there ever since.

Our trip to Portugal was mostly thanks to long layovers flying with TAPortugal on our way to Spain. We stopped in Lisbon very briefly on the way to Madrid, on this stop I got my first breath of European air and my first sips of European espresso. After an incredible week and a half of traveling Spain and southern France we were back on our way to Portugal.

The second time we were in Lisbon was for only a few short days again and I was sick after my first big trip abroad (an unfortunate reality I've come to terms with after every trip I've taken now). The streets of Lisbon were covered in beautiful tiles, there was the picturesque port with the monument to the Portuguese explorer that we are all familiar with, Christopher Columbus, and there was a magical night of enjoying Portuguese food and Fado music. I didn't have the same eye for photographing my travels then as I do now so the pictures don't do it justice but I'm writing this in the hopes that I'll be back soon to show you more.

    1. So great to hear about your wonderful memories of Lisbon and wanting to return .
What made that trip so memorable for us was having you there . Just wore the dress we bought in Narbonne which brought back memories of all those places, of us together, and grandpa running around looking for hot chocolate for you :)
