Travel Diaries: Brussels, Belgium

Brussels was an interesting one... I have not met a single person who has gone and does not have a very interesting story to share. We have PLENTY of interesting stories to share from our few days in Brussels. Our trip started with the most interesting bus ride we had ever experienced... All in all, I would NOT recommend ever taking Flixbus. It was the most uncomfortable and strange experience of our lives.

Once we were all settled in Brussels, after a first night in a terrible Airbnb, we were ready to explore the city. It was Easter so we started at the day with mass at the Cathedral of St. Micheal and St. Gudula. After an hour of a mass in French that I could not understand we were off to see the main sights of Brussels. We were able to see two of the three peeing statues that Brussels is known for, the Grand Place, the Royal Palace, and the Palais de Justice. We quickly discovered there were not a whole lot of sight seeing things to do so we decided to go on a bit of a food tour instead.

We popped into every chocolate shop we could and got as many souvenirs as we could fit in out bags. Our absolute favorite thing though was the Belgian Waffles and Belgian Fries we got. We had so much fun exploring the streets to find the best food in town. We wondered around the main parts of the city a good bit and wondered upon some lovely gardens, but that was the extent of the city. There was not a whole lot more to do so we relaxed in our hotel room and recovered from our first full week of traveling. Up next we were going to meet my cousin in Amsterdam and head off to my favorite European cities.
